Quench Bio is a Cambridge, Mass.-based biotechnology company founded in 2018 that leverages insights into gasdermin biology and innate immunology to develop medicines for severe inflammatory diseases. Its lead compounds target and inhibit the pore-forming protein Gasdermin D, a central player in pyroptosis and NETosis pathways that mediates the release of inflammatory cytokines, alarmins, DNA and NETs. The company was founded by Atlas, Arix, Mark Tebbe, Ph.D. (CTO), and Mike Nolan, Ph.D. (Head of Biology), together with Arturo Zychlinsky and Herbert Waldmann, in collaboration with the Lead Discovery Center, and is led by CEO Samantha Truex. Quench Bio completed a $50m Series A financing to advance its gasdermin-targeting programs. Its leadership and board include investors and scientists from RA Capital, Abbvie Ventures, Atlas Venture, Arix Bioscience, the Max Planck Institute and Pandion Therapeutics.
