Qui Veut Rafraîchir Sa Ville
Lyon, Rhone-Alpes, France, Europe
Overview
The company develops an Aquapuncture® method that captures rainwater on impervious surfaces, promotes infiltration on-site and installs plantings to create shade and durable urban cooling. It targets primarily private urban land such as parking lots and business zones, which the company estimates account for nearly 80% of urbanized surfaces and some 1.2 million technically compatible economic sites in France. Qui Veut Rafraîchir Sa Ville uses a cartographic tool with aerial image analysis to identify suitable parcels and has deployed demonstrators in Lyon, Dijon and Angoulême. The startup has built a network of 16 territorial operators to implement its method across several French cities and currently has about 50 projects under study. Having been founded in late 2023 and awarded the Greentech Innovation label in June, the company raised €1 million in its first funding round to accelerate deployment and scale operations.
