Overview
Quid describes itself as “the artificial intelligence company that accelerates research and insights to address the world’s most complex issues.” The company processes millions of documents and creates visual maps of the results, for example helping a business visualize the online response to a product launch. Quid broadened its scope from tracking emerging technologies (as it did in 2010) to a wider set of research and insight applications. It launched its current platform at the beginning of last year and says it has signed up 80 clients since that launch. Customers cited in coverage include Hyundai, Microsoft, and the Boston Consulting Group. Quid recently announced a $39 million Series D round. Quid builds software that visualizes trends across the tech industry, selling subscriptions to blue‑chip clients. The company’s platform is used by customers such as Microsoft, which pays about $1 million annually for a subscription. Quid plans to use new funding to hire 18 additional engineers on top of its current 45‑person team and to further develop its product. Management says it will focus first on nailing the tech sector and then expand into other industries. CEO Bob Goodson frames the product as a tool to mine insights from rapidly growing volumes of data and help customers make more informed decisions.
