Quid
7 Manchester Square, London, England, W1U 3PQ, United Kingdom
Overview
Quid offers secured loans to tech employees who receive equity awards, allowing them to access liquidity before a company exit by using shares as collateral. Loans are sized up to roughly 35% of the value of an employee’s stock, with interest rates around 7%, and Quid also takes a cut of shares after a liquidity event such as an IPO or acquisition. The firm works selectively with roughly two dozen employers it deems creditworthy, including Airbnb, Bird and SpaceX. Quid launched in 2017 and is based in Santa Monica. It is led by Troy partners Josh Berman, Anthony Tucker and Samit Varma and is the sole company advertised on Troy Capital’s website. The company has been raising capital for its lending business and funds, most recently disclosed in an SEC filing as $74.1 million in new funding.
