Overview
Founded in 2023 by Gaël Pagès and Mickaël Delmas, Quideos builds derivative-style coverage contracts that let farmers, cooperatives and agri-food companies lock in an agreed purchase or sale price over a chosen period. Clients pay a premium that varies with volume, duration and target price; if market prices fall, Quideos pays a cash compensation, while rising prices leave the premium as the only cost, ensuring there is no speculative usage. The company bases its indices on public and private data sources such as Insee, FranceAgriMer and the European Commission. After an 18-month process, it secured a Class 2 investment-firm licence from the ACPR, enabling it to market the product within a regulated framework. More than 80 % of agricultural goods currently lack protection mechanisms, a gap Quideos aims to fill. With fresh funding it will convert an existing pipeline of prospects into active customers and begin hiring additional staff from 2026. By 2029 the startup targets coverage of €1 billion in agricultural purchases or sales and plans a phased expansion into other European markets once domestic scale is achieved.
