QuietOn is an Oulu-based startup that develops patented earbuds it says are the world’s smallest for active noise cancelling. The product is positioned to deliver a "Nordic experience of quietude on demand" and was launched on Indiegogo before being sold via Amazon and airline travel retail channels. The company reports a customer base spanning 120 countries. CEO Jussi Lemiläinen said QuietOn has "millions of dollars in revenue and profitability." The startup closed a €4.5 million seed round and has opened a Series A; seed proceeds will support aggressive growth in Europe, North America and Asia. The planned Series A is intended to fund R&D as well as global marketing and sales.
