Quilt
1800 Broadway, Suite 2, Redwood City, CA, United States
Overview
Quilt offers a real-time digital scrapbook platform designed for close friends and family to jointly capture and curate moments on iPhone and Android devices. Users can open as many “Quilts” as they like, inviting select contacts to contribute and setting detailed privacy rules that determine who can view each memory. The product positions itself as a storytelling tool rather than a simple group photo-sharing app, extending the act of sharing from individuals to whole groups. Its features are meant to complement, not replace, broad social networks such as Facebook or Twitter, catering especially to college-aged users who are comfortable with mobile-first sharing. Finished Quilts can later be viewed on tablets and PCs, broadening access beyond phones. Co-founder Austin Cooley emphasizes flexibility and collaboration as core differentiators. Financially, the company has secured a $500,000 seed round to fund early growth and product development. Facebook co-founder Andrew McCollum, who also serves as an advisor, led the round alongside several other angel backers.
