Overview

Quiq provides a conversational customer-engagement platform that combines first- and third-party chatbots with human agents across messaging channels (including Apple Messages for Business). The platform supports synchronous and asynchronous conversations and allows automated interactions to be escalated to agents when needed. Quiq says revenue doubled in the past year and its customer base grew to more than 200 brands, including Overstock, Spirit Airlines and Brinks Home Security; overall conversation volume on the platform increased 6x and conversations per client increased 300%. The company has added features such as automatic language translation for agents and recently acquired e-commerce chatbot vendor Snaps. Quiq plans to grow its headcount from 66 to 100 by 2023, focusing hires in marketing and sales. Total capital raised now stands at $47.5 million. Quiq is a conversational engagement platform and business messaging solutions provider based in Bozeman, Mont. Led by founder and CEO Mike Myer, the platform powers commerce and service conversations between consumers and companies using human agents and bots. Its platform is fully asynchronous, allowing customers to start, pause, and stop conversations on their terms, unlike traditional phone and email channels. Quiq works with over 120 clients, including brands such as Overstock, Pier 1, Office Depot, and Men’s Wearhouse. In July 2019 the company closed a $12.5M Series B to continue building out its engagement platform and expand its go-to-market team. Centricient offers a messaging management toolkit designed to help businesses move customer service onto SMS and messaging platforms such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and WeChat. The product targets larger enterprises that require more support than SMB-focused tools like Zendesk. Founded by Mike Myer and based in Bozeman, Mon., the company has secured a partnership with Helix Business Solutions, an Oracle Service Cloud system integrator. Centricient has two undisclosed beta customers in the consumer goods and telecommunications markets. The company raised $6.5 million from Venrock and Next Frontier Capital to support its growth. Leadership argues the platform will remain relevant even as chatbots and AI become more prevalent, since it provides the underlying plumbing and channel for messaging and bots.
