Quirk is a London-based consumer fintech startup that uses a personality test based on psychological principles such as the “big five” traits to deliver tailored financial advice to young professionals. With support from expert psychologists and behavioural research, the app provides personalised educational content and insights into users' spending habits and presents data in an actionable way. The company is led by co-founders Nafeesa Jafferjee (Co-Founder & Chief of Product) and Nikos Melachrinos (Co-Founder & CEO). Quirk had more than 1,000 beta users and around 5,000 people on its waiting list at the time of reporting; iOS and Android beta versions were available and a public app store launch was planned for March 2021. The startup raised £300k in pre-seed funding to grow the team and expand its product offering.
