Quotient Therapeutics develops a Somatic Genomics platform that systematically studies genetic variation and the evolution of cells to reveal links between genes and disease. The platform analyzes natural selection at the cellular level via four steps: phenotyping of cells from clinical tissue samples, isolation, single-cell genotyping, and computation. Created by Flagship scientists in partnership with geneticists at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and the University of Texas Southwestern, the platform identifies naturally selected genes, proteins, and pathways as prospective therapeutic targets. Quotient aims to enable discovery of first-in-class drugs across a broad range of modalities and therapeutic areas, including immune, cardiometabolic, infectious, oncology, neurodegenerative, rare disease, and aging. The company is led by Geoffrey von Maltzahn, with co-founders and senior leaders from Flagship, the Wellcome Sanger Institute, and UT Southwestern. Quotient raised $50M in initial funding to advance development of its platform.
