Quro Medical
24 Peter Place, Lyme Park, Sandton, NA - South Africa, 2060, South Africa
Overview
Quro Medical provides acute patient care at home, admitting patients in lieu of general ward hospital admission and using clinical data plus remote monitoring for real-time, data-driven interventions. The company combines in-person care with telemedicine and remote patient monitoring to drive better clinical outcomes and patient experience. It generates revenue by filing claims with medical aid and insurance companies (reimbursement) and by collecting out-of-pocket payments from patients. Quro works with about 150 doctors and says it has converted medical schemes that account for more than 90% of South Africa’s medical scheme market. Founded in 2018 by Dr Vuyane Mhlomi, Zikho Pali, and Rob Cornish, the company plans to build the largest virtual hospital ward in Africa, accelerate nationwide scale, attract and retain talent, and expand into other African markets.
