Qvanteq

Technoparkstrasse 1, Zürich, Zurich, 8005, Switzerland

Overview

Qvanteq is a Zurich-based medtech startup, founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). The company has developed a novel, bioactive, coating-free surface technology that can be applied to coronary stents. Pre-clinical in vivo studies showed a significant reduction of restenosis versus bare metal stents and comparable or better results than drug-eluting stents, along with very fast endothelialization. Qvanteq positions its stent as an alternative to DES that could increase patient safety and potentially allow a significant reduction in dual anti-platelet treatment (DAPT) time. The CHF4 million raised in the Series B will be used to obtain clinical proof of concept in a First-in-Man study and to pursue CE market approval. Qvanteq has been funded by private investors, obtained the CTI start-up label in 2012, and its development projects have been supported by Swiss Government KTI/CTI grants.
