R.e.d.d. is a Portland, Maine–based food energy bar company led by Founder Alden Blease and CEO Peter Van Alstine. The company offers bars described as part protein bar, part energy shot and part multi‑vitamin, developed using nutritional science, natural chemistry and human performance engineering. Products are available nationwide via www.reddbar.com and include Chocolate plus two new flavors, Peanut Butter and Oatmeal. The bars are certified gluten free, vegan, 70% organic, low‑glycemic and free of dairy, soy, GMOs, refined sugars and artificial ingredients. R.e.d.d. closed a $1M funding round and intends to use the proceeds to accelerate product innovation and expand distribution. The funding round was organized by Seattle‑based investors Dan Nordstrom and Greg Hanson, who joined the company’s board.
