R-LABS is a real estate industry venture builder that co-creates and scales companies tackling major problems in real estate and housing. Established in 2018, it operates an ecosystem of corporate and institutional partners that includes 23 organizations and supports venture creation across housing affordability, climate resiliency, complete communities, and building optimization. R-LABS partners with corporations such as Oxford Properties, Dorsay Development Corporation, and LandSure Systems, and now Hatch, to leverage partner networks and domain expertise in founding startups. Examples of companies co-created with R-LABS include Assembly, a modular housing company, and NOAH, an advanced flood-risk platform using physics-based simulations and hyperlocal data. The organization announced a CA$3.5M investment to expand its capabilities to co-found new companies and accelerate ventures addressing Canada’s real estate and housing challenges. R-LABS plans to expand its partnership capabilities in 2025 with strategic capabilities across engineering, construction, multi-family development, banking, finance, services, and technology.
