Overview

Rainbow Robotics was founded in 2011 by researchers from KAIST’s Humanoid Robot Research Center and developed Korea’s first two‑legged walking robot, Hubo. The company builds collaborative robots, dual‑arm mobile manipulators and autonomous mobile robots aimed at manufacturing and logistics automation. Rainbow plans to accelerate development of intelligent humanoids by integrating its robotics hardware with advanced AI and software. Samsung Electronics will provide AI/software integration, global sales infrastructure, and a synergy council to align future robot technologies and market strategy. Rainbow will enter overseas markets using Samsung’s global channels and is expected to benefit from Samsung’s Future Robotics Office reporting to the CEO. Dr. Jun‑Ho Oh, a Rainbow founding member and KAIST honorary professor, will advise Samsung and head the Future Robotics Office after retiring from Rainbow.
