Ranger

320 N Sangamon St #1025, Chicago, IL, 60607, United States

Overview

Ranger builds agent-focused insurance tools to streamline administrative work, generate better leads, maximize cross-sell, and personalize client service so agents can spend more time selling. Co-founded by Philip Krim, Greg Garrison, and Gabriel Flateman, the team centers agents rather than direct-to-consumer marketing; Krim left his role as Casper CEO in 2021 and Garrison spent 15 years at AIG. The company plans to launch in the fall and will offer home insurance, auto insurance, and a home warranty that it will underwrite as an MGA while partnering with a carrier so it does not carry the risk itself. Ranger will initially operate in Arizona, Indiana, and Ohio. The startup is targeting middle-income to affluent families and says many households have unknowingly underinsured their homes by around $100,000. Ranger announced a $5.25 million seed round led by Lerer Hippeau Ventures with participation from Alex Rodriguez, Firstminute Capital, Slow Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Raven1 Ventures and Montauk Ventures.
