Ranzure Networks is a Richardson, Texas-based provider of flexible, virtualized, cloud-based 4G/5G RAN solutions. Led by Pardeep Kohli, the company provides solutions to deploy 5G networks and supports service providers. It maintains development centers in Ottawa, Canada and Bengaluru, India. Ranzure completed a $13M Series A to advance its product and solutions development for service providers and partners globally. The company plans to use the funds for R&D and to build its sales and operations teams. In conjunction with the financing, Ranzure will license Mitel Mobile technology in the area of Evolved Packet Core to support service providers building 5G networks for the Internet of Things. Founders include serial mobile entrepreneur Pardeep Kohli (formerly Mavenir CEO) and Ashok Khuntia (formerly Mavenir EVP, Engineering). Mitel has participated in the initial funding and Mitel Mobile president BG Kumar will take a board seat, positioning Ranzure to leverage Mitel’s operator relationships and technology. The company cites a market projection of $247 billion in 5G service revenue over the next ten years (ABI Research, April 2016). Ranzure’s immediate financial position was established by a $7.6M seed round led by Mitel with participation from LiveOak Venture Partners and other investors.
