The company also launched a Global Strategic Services practice this year to deliver data-driven security program assessments and customized recommendations. Rapid7’s offerings span vulnerability management, penetration testing, controls assessment, and incident detection and investigation. The company serves more than 3,000 organizations across 78 countries, including nearly 30% of the Fortune 1000. The new funding is intended to accelerate development of intruder analytics and services, expand the Global Strategic Services practice, and grow its global enterprise customer base. Rapid7 builds security risk intelligence products that identify security risks across an enterprise’s IT infrastructure and prioritize remediation based on attack probability. Its flagship product, Nexpose, scans Web, network, application, and database environments for vulnerabilities. The company says it has 1,700 customers and reported revenue growth of more than 900% over the past four years, including its tenth quarter of record revenue in Q3 2011. Rapid7 will use new funding to hire, further product development, pursue strategic acquisitions, and expand internationally. The offering is focused on helping enterprises find and remediate security weaknesses across their full IT stack. Financially, the company has been experiencing rapid revenue expansion and customer traction as described above.
