Overview

Raspberry Pi is the commercial arm of the U.K.-based Raspberry Pi Foundation that makes low-price microprocessors and consumer “build it yourself” PCs, with devices starting from $35. Its products serve both consumers (education and home internet access) and industrial customers designing Pi into IoT applications. The trading arm ships more than 7 million devices a year, and the Foundation reports over 42 million Pi-powered PCs distributed to more than 100 countries. Management says demand rose during COVID-19 lockdowns, driven by consumer and stronger industrial uptake as the economy rebounds. The company plans to use new capital to expand its existing product line, invest in manufacturing and supply chain to meet demand, increase marketing across consumer and industrial sectors, and hire more engineers for product development. The trading arm operates with a nonprofit foundation parent and emphasizes partnerships with OEMs and widening access to hardware and software tools.
