Overview
RawData, founded in 2018 in Barcelona, provides a SaaS B2B digital platform that centralizes agricultural production activities in real time. Its core product includes a digital field notebook plus modules for cost control, supplier communications, environmental calculations and a human-resources module for identity verification, time tracking, productivity and digital contracting (including offline). The platform leverages artificial intelligence and big data to help agricultural companies and cooperatives optimize resources and comply with quality standards such as GLOBALGAP. RawData serves more than 100 clients across Spain and has initial customers in LATAM, with thousands of daily worker recognitions and hundreds of technicians using the tool. After the recent seed raise, the company plans to reinforce its digital solutions, accelerate growth, integrate new data sources and begin internationalizing its services. The team is roughly 20 people, about two-thirds focused on technology, and RawData aims to double its customer base and consolidate growth in Spain and LATAM. RawData develops AI and big-data solutions for agricultural digitalization, offering modules such as AI-driven harvest predictions, virtual weather stations with pest-alert systems, and an HR module with facial-recognition identity verification. Its tools give technicians and growers precise crop data to improve decisions, boost yields and reduce inputs. The platform’s optimization delivers environmental benefits including water savings, reduced chemical use and improved crop health. RawData reported that it tripled its revenue in 2020 versus the prior year. The company already generates about 10% of its revenue from Chile and Mexico and plans to consolidate its position in Spain while expanding in those Latin American markets. CEO Albert Duaigües said the new investment brings a strategic partner to accelerate the company roadmap. RawData develops AI and Big Data solutions for agriculture that integrate satellite imagery, agrometeorological databases and user-provided information to support farm-management decisions. Its platform provides tools for harvest planning (optimal harvest date and expected volume), multi-source data integration for analysis, and crop-health alerts for diseases and weather. A key advantage of RawData's technology is that it operates without installing physical field devices, lowering implementation costs and improving scalability. In early 2020 RawData launched a solution to digitize work reports with facial-recognition identity verification, aimed at its existing customers and the temporary-employment agencies operating in agriculture. That service complements RawData's core offering and expands its addressable market within the agricultural sector. As of the article, the company had completed its first investment round.
