Raxio Data Centre
New York, United States
Overview
Raxio designs and operates carrier-neutral, Tier III colocation data centers across several African markets, including Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d’Ivoire and Angola, with planned expansion into Tanzania. The company focuses on greenfield data center builds and emphasizes efficient power and water usage, with efforts to incorporate renewable energy alongside grid infrastructure as capacity grows. Raxio is increasing rack densities to support higher-power workloads such as AI and high-performance computing and reports a growing pipeline of opportunities requiring 10 MW+ deployments. Commercial momentum is strong: Raxio signed contracts representing six times more power capacity in the first half of 2026 than in the same period of 2025. Financially, the company has assembled committed capital above $380 million through equity injections from shareholders Roha and Meridiam, a $100 million financing package from the International Finance Corporation in 2025, and debt financing from Proparco and the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund. Management says the company will use new capital to expand its footprint, accommodate larger customer deployments and invest in infrastructure to meet more demanding computing workloads.
