Overview
Reali is a San Mateo, Calif.-based real estate and fintech company that offers salaried in-house agents and an in-house team of specialists who collaborate 24/7 to support coordinated transactions. Its core products include Reali Trade, which facilitates simultaneous sell-and-buy transactions, and Reali Cash Offer, which enables buyers to make all-cash offers backed by Reali. In August 2021 the company closed a $250M financing round comprised of $75M in equity, $25M in venture debt and $150M in warehouse financing. The round was led by Zeev Ventures with participation from Akkadian Ventures, Signia Ventures and others. The financing brings Reali’s total funding to more than $300M. The company intends to use the proceeds for national expansion and product advancements to its Reali Trade-In and Reali Cash Offer services. Reali is a San Mateo, CA–based full-service real estate brokerage that combines local licensed agents with an app and technology-driven tools to give buyers cash back and sellers flat-fee savings. The company has expanded into lending, launching Reali Loans after acquiring online mortgage platform Lenda in April 2019. Over the prior year it more than tripled its transaction volume and grew headcount by nearly 40%. Reali plans to use the new funding to add services such as escrow and title, home warranties, and insurance. It is also recruiting across product, engineering, real estate, and marketing teams in the United States and Israel and expanding its certified agent headcount. Amit Haller is co-founder and CEO. Reali operates a technology platform that replaces the traditional agent-centric commission model with agents paid a flat fee per transaction. The company combines its platform with agents and is investing in machine learning and AI to improve buyer and seller workflows. Reali says its agents are more efficient on a per-transaction basis and reports a Net Promoter Score of 85.2. The service has processed “hundreds of millions of dollars in homes bought and sold.” The app has been downloaded about 30,000 times since January 2017 and the service is currently available in the Bay Area and Sacramento. Reali plans to expand into Southern California this summer, cover all of California later this year, and then enter out-of-state markets. Reali is an app-enabled real estate company founded in 2015 by Amit Haller and Ami Avrahami and based in San Mateo, California. It offers knowledge, partnership and data-driven insights across the complete lifecycle of buying, owning, and selling a home, plus full mortgage brokerage services and warranties for buyers and sellers. Launched a year prior to the article, Reali is available in key Northern markets including San Francisco, Palo Alto, San Jose and Sacramento. The company distributes its consumer-facing product via iOS and Android apps. Reali intends to use new funds to further its marketing and engineering efforts and to expand to new metropolitan areas. The company recently closed a $9M Series A round to support those plans. Reali offers an end-to-end online real-estate platform that aims to simplify buying and selling by reducing commissions and automating parts of the transaction. The company refunds buyers the standard buyer’s agent commission and instead charges a flat fee just under $5,000, while reducing seller commissions to 4 percent. Reali deploys technology such as smart locks and Bluetooth beacons to enable self-guided home visits and minimize agent time. Its app is now available on Android, and the company emphasizes an integrated transaction and collaboration platform rather than lead-generation tools. Reali is expanding its service to the entire San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose, and plans to use new funding to invest in its technology platform, enhance operations, and broaden market reach to other major California markets and selected out-of-state regions.
