Overview

RealSense, recently spun out of Intel and headquartered in Santa Clara, develops vision-based AI cameras and software that combine depth sensing with facial authentication to secure physical access points. Its hardware and algorithms are designed to protect user privacy while delivering fast, touchless identification for enterprise, airport and event environments. The company is extending its platform into robotics by pairing its depth-sensing cameras with Nvidia’s Jetson Thor series for on-device computing. Management sees growing demand for AI-driven automation in smart airports, predictive maintenance, crowd management and logistics, markets forecast to reach multi-billion-dollar scale by 2030. Earlier in the year, RealSense raised $50 million in early-stage funding to support the spinout and product roadmap. The new strategic partnership with dormakaba augments its capital base and opens a significant distribution channel in global access control. Together, the firms aim to set a new standard for biometric security across multiple sectors.
