Receivables Exchange
437 Madison Avenue, 28th Floor, New York, NY, 10022, United States
Overview
The Receivables Exchange operates a first-to-market, real-time online marketplace for working capital financing that allows companies to monetize receivables. Established in 2007 and based in New York, the platform connects sellers seeking flexible access to capital with accredited institutional buyers in live auctions. Sellers gain prompt access to capital without restrictive covenants, and Buyers get direct access to what the company describes as a $17 trillion asset class. The service can lower Days Sales Outstanding (DSOs) to as little as one day. The company is expanding distribution through a strategic alliance to offer its working capital solution to small and medium-sized U.S. businesses, including Insperity’s client base. The Receivables Exchange operates a proprietary receivables trading platform that lets businesses sell accounts receivable to a global network of accredited institutional investors who compete in real time. The platform launched its online receivables financing marketplace in 2008 and facilitates shorter cash conversion cycles and access to working capital for sellers. The company positions its service as a solution for firms that have a majority of working capital tied up in accounts receivable (the company says many have more than 60%). Financially, the company has raised multiple rounds and has taken in just south of $30 million in total funding to date. The Receivables Exchange says it will use new funding to scale operations and sales and to expand marketing, business development, and corporate partnership efforts.
