Recommend provides an app that enables users to find advice from friends and experts, save relevant experiences and share them with their network. The product personalizes advice and emphasizes the quality of relationships and trust rather than crowdsourcing from strangers. Led by founder and CEO Nicolas Mendiharat, the company plans to use recent funding to accelerate development of its algorithm and products, including a new Web App and upgraded iOS versions planned for July 2014. The team is distributed across Paris, Belgrade, Aix-en-Provence, Toulon and New York. Financially, Recommend recently raised $1M in funding from a group of angel backers to support these product and algorithm investments.
