Overview
Recora offers a Cardiac Recovery Program that extends beyond traditional 12-week cardiac rehabilitation to provide continuous, home-based care management using virtual tools and on-demand access to care teams. The program includes the Recora Recovery Kit (internet-enabled tablet, resistance bands, blood pressure monitor), a personalized Recora Program with educational tools, support groups and 24/7 chat, and a multidisciplinary Recora Care Team of physicians, nurses, exercise physiologists, health coaches and dietitians. Recora reports serving Geisinger and several regional insurance plans covering over 30,000 cardiac patients and says its program is available nationwide. Reported clinical outcomes include an 11% hospital readmission rate (vs. a 43% national average for Medicare heart-failure patients at six months), an 87% program completion rate (vs. 26% nationally), 95% of patients with hypertension improving to normal ranges, 94% medication adherence, and 80% improvement in distance and strength gains. The company emerged from stealth concurrent with its Series A and aims to support health systems and health plans in scaling virtual cardiac recovery and strengthening patient relationships. Recora is positioning its virtual-first model to increase uptake of cardiac recovery by removing access barriers and enabling value-based home cardiac care.
