Overview
Recovery Centers of America (RCA) operates neighborhood-based, five-star addiction treatment facilities that combine evidence-based clinical care with a premium patient experience. RCA locates centers in-community so patients can remain connected to family and local support networks rather than travel to distant, isolated programs. Facilities offer medical and behavioral treatment alongside ancillary services such as fitness, yoga, acupuncture, and on-site dining prepared by an executive chef; Bracebridge Hall and Lighthouse are cited examples. The company has opened multiple centers (including a 90-bed Westminster facility and a third facility in Mays Landing that is at capacity and plans to double beds). RCA emphasizes patient-centric processes and an advisory board drawn from major academic institutions to guide clinical practice. Financially, RCA recently secured an additional $100 million commitment from Deerfield, increasing total capital available to $331.5 million to fund expansion in the Northeast. Recovery Centers of America operates neighborhood-based Centers for Addiction Medicine offering a full continuum of care, including detox, inpatient, outpatient and ongoing support services. The company aims to increase availability and quality of substance abuse treatment by delivering comprehensive services in patients' local communities and reducing the need to travel long distances for care. RCA plans to open its first campus in May 2016 in Earleville, Maryland, and to open additional campuses in the Washington, D.C., Boston, and Philadelphia metro areas in 2016. It has acquired eight development sites in the Northeast and contemplates operating over 1,200 beds by the end of 2017. RCA announced a $231.5 million commitment from Deerfield Management to fund its expansion and transformation into one of the world’s largest addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare providers. The company is working with insurance companies to streamline payment methodologies and emphasizes integrating clinical care, technology, and electronic medical records. Recovery Centers of America has assembled a management team including founder and CEO J. Brian O’Neill and clinical leader Deni Carise, Ph.D., to execute its growth and clinical strategy.
