Overview
Recyc'ELIT develops a patented chemical eco-depolymerisation process to recycle polyester-based and complex PET textiles and plastics, including coloured and multifibre materials. The process selectively depolymerises PET back to its monomers using minimal reagents and solvents, preserving other fibres. Recyc'ELIT says the recovered monomers can be used to produce virgin PET of food-grade quality or other premium grades in a closed-loop, low-carbon approach. The company collaborates closely with recyclers to ensure compatibility with sorting processes and to produce high-quality recycled PET pellets. Founded in 2019 and based in Chasse sur Rhône, Recyc'ELIT focuses on tackling problematic PET plastics that disrupt mechanical recycling and transforming unsorted waste into higher-value products. The startup reports encouraging results while continuing to test its process on complex, multifibre and composite materials. It has secured fresh funding to support further development and industrial deployment.
