Red Foundry offers a SaaS platform that lets users with limited technical experience build and manage iPhone and iPad apps, supporting menus, RSS feeds, images, video, maps and built-in sharing. The platform includes visual test apps, remote content updates without resubmission, one-click App Store submission and handling of App Store approval logistics. It provides built-in storage and delivery, analytics (by timeframe, geography, loyalty, device and app version) and targeted push notifications. The company is positioning the product to replace consulting work by automating app creation so customers don’t need developer involvement. Red Foundry is in private beta and says it is close to signing deals to license the software to several big-name media companies. Financially, the company has just completed a $1.1 million Series A financing from OCA Ventures and I2A Fund.
