RED Mountain Resort operates a world-class ski area in Rossland, BC, delivering 2,877 acres of terrain and nearly 1,000 recently added acres on Grey Mountain. The resort emphasizes unspoiled, community-driven skiing with features such as in-bounds cat-skiing and an average 7.6 meters of annual snowfall. In August 2016 RED launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on StartEngine called “Fight the Man. Own The Mountain.” and the campaign’s videos have garnered over half a million views and broad press coverage. By February 2017 RED hit its $10 million reservation goal on the StartEngine campaign, having accepted low minimum reservations of $1,000 to broaden participation. Management is preparing auditing and legal documents for a Phase II that is scheduled to launch in Fall 2017 and hopes reservations will convert to actual investments. The campaign includes investor incentives (lift tickets, gear, season passes, clubhouse and cabin access) and a “Last In, First Out” feature that would prioritize Phase II investors for return of capital before prior equity investors.
