Reedsy was founded by Emmanuel Nataf and Richard Fayet to give indie authors access to vetted editorial, design and marketing talent via a services marketplace combined with collaboration tools. The platform offers interior and cover design, editing, and a project-management layer for editors, designers and marketers. Reedsy also plans to support audiobook creation, translation, marketing and promotion to replicate publisher services for indie authors. The company says it targets serious authors aiming to make a living rather than amateurs. Reedsy is in private beta, has over 1,000 beta users, is partnering with known authors and aims to launch in two months. On the funding front it has received early backing and is seeking additional capital to expand the service lineup.
