Founded in 2017 and led by CEO Derick Naef, the company serves Fortune 500 companies and government agencies across telecommunications, cloud infrastructure and data centers, automotive, health care, utilities and manufacturing. ReFirm closed a $2M Pre-A funding round to accelerate new product development and expand sales and marketing operations. Investors in the round included DataTribe, New Dominion Angels, TEDCO and Tysons Angel Investors. ReFirm Labs is a Fulton, MD–based security company focused on firmware for enterprise, consumer and IoT devices. The company is launching the Centrifuge Platform, which automatically detects security vulnerabilities in the firmware that runs billions of connected devices. ReFirm is led by CEO and co‑founder Terry Dunlap, CTO and co‑founder Peter Eacmen, and Principal Research Engineer Craig Heffner. The company received $1.5M in initial funding from startup studio DataTribe. Following the investment, John Stewart, Chief Security Officer of Cisco, and Jay Emmanuel, Chief Architect at DataTribe, joined ReFirm’s board of directors.
