Reflection Sciences was founded by University of Minnesota professors Dr. Stephanie M. Carlson and Dr. Phil Zelazo to provide professional development, training, and tools that assess and improve executive function. Its core product, the Minnesota Executive Function Scale (MEFS App™), is described as the first objective, scientifically based, and normed direct assessment of executive function for ages two and up. The MEFS App is a quick, five-minute game intended to give educators and parents data on a student’s executive function skills. The company emphasizes links between executive function and social development, school readiness, academic achievement, and health. Reflection Sciences sells professional development and training alongside the assessment tool.
