Refuel AI offers a platform that automates dataset creation and labeling for businesses and use cases by leveraging large language models. The company says users can create large, clean, and diverse datasets in less than an hour instead of weeks and is releasing Autolabel, an open-source library to label data using LLMs. Early users and internal benchmarks show a 25–100x speedup for dataset creation and labeling with accuracy at par or better than human labelers. Founders Nihit Desai and Rishabh Bhargava are Stanford graduates who previously led and built large-scale AI and data systems at Meta, Primer.ai, LinkedIn, Cloudera, and Stanford; Desai led ML teams for content integrity at Meta. The early engineering team includes people from Amazon, Apple, Google DeepMind, Lyft, and Uber. The company plans to use its $5.2M seed to grow the team and launch platform capabilities as a first step toward its mission of ushering in an era of AI abundance.
