Founded in 2015, Regend Therapeutics focuses on human organ regenerative medicine, leveraging progenitor cells to develop innovative cell and gene therapies. Its lead asset, REGEND001, targets chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and has produced statistically significant lung-function improvements in clinical trials; Phase 3 studies for both indications are planned for 2026 in China. A U.S. FDA orphan-drug designation has been granted to Pulmovinci, an optimized version of REGEND001 for IPF. The company’s second program, REGEND003, uses kidney progenitor cells collected non-invasively from urine to treat diabetic kidney disease and has entered Phase 1 trials.
