Overview
Reju develops textile-to-textile regeneration processes to convert difficult-to-recycle, polyester-containing textiles into high-quality circular intermediates for new polyester production. The company plans an industrial-scale Regeneration Hub at Chemelot Industrial Park to process post-consumer textiles and reintroduce regenerated material into downstream yarn and fabric supply chains. Reju states its regenerated output, Reju Polyester, delivers approximately 50% lower carbon emissions compared with virgin polyester. The Chemelot site was chosen for its industrial ecosystem, shared utilities, logistics infrastructure, and proximity to research capabilities to support efficient ramp-up and replication. Reju is owned by Technip Energies and leverages technology originating with IBM Research. The company aims to establish a replicable textile circular system and scale commercial technologies that reduce emissions and divert textile waste from landfill and incineration.
