Overview
ReliefBand Technologies, established in July 2015 by Nick Spring, is a Philadelphia-based provider of therapeutic technology for the treatment of nausea. Its core product, ReliefBand, is an FDA-cleared wearable device that delivers programmed pulses with specific waveform, frequency, and intensity to stimulate the median nerve on the underside of the wrist. The device is intended to provide a drug-free treatment for nausea and vomiting associated with morning sickness, motion sickness, post-operative nausea, and chemotherapy-related nausea. The company says the underlying technology has been clinically proven by doctors and hospitals for nearly twenty years. ReliefBand plans a consumer market introduction and a retail debut in Q1 2016 following a current beta test, with a suggested retail price of $89.99. The company raised $5 million in venture capital led by PathoCapital to fund the consumer launch.
