233 Broadway 17th Floor, New York, NY, 10279, United States

Overview

Remedy Pharmaceuticals is a privately-held, clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on acute central nervous system conditions including severe stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury. Its lead product, CIRARA, is a patented high-affinity inhibitor of Sur1-Trpm4 channels formulated for intravenous delivery using the company’s proprietary MPD™ technology. CIRARA is investigational, is not approved by the FDA, and is intended for bedside or even ambulance administration. The company completed a $9 million financing to accelerate its development program. Management said the funds will be used to accelerate the pathway to a phase 3 study in severe stroke and viewed the raise as validation of the team and plan. CEO Sven Jacobson and investors including Ed Woolard commented on the potential impact of CIRARA. Remedy Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on development and commercialization of small-molecule drugs for acute CNS disorders. Its lead candidate, RP-1127, is a high-affinity, well-tolerated inhibitor of NCCa-ATP channels designed to prevent brain swelling and hemorrhage after ischemic and traumatic injury. Remedy is conducting GAMES-RP, a Phase 2 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center trial in severe ischemic stroke patients at high risk of clinically significant brain swelling, launched after a successful GAMES-Pilot. The GAMES-Pilot markedly reduced historical expectations of ~80% death or severe disability to a 20% incidence rate. GAMES-RP is recruiting at 12 U.S. centers, including Stanford, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital and Yale-New Haven, and is expected to complete by the end of this year or early next year. Remedy completed an equity financing from Broadview Ventures (amount undisclosed) to accelerate the GAMES-RP trial.
