Remessa Online operates an online money-transfer platform that serves small and medium-sized businesses and individual customers with digital, scalable processes and omnichannel support. Since launching in 2016 it has processed over $2 billion in international transfers and serves more than 300,000 customers across 100 countries. The company charges fees it says are typically one eighth the cost of local money-transfer options and issues accounts with International Banking Account Numbers to receive funds in nine currencies. Remessa has expanded geographically to the U.K., Europe, Argentina and Chile and added additional services and a toolkit targeted at SMBs. Its product roadmap emphasizes further globalization and building a broader international financial system for customers and businesses. The company also highlights strengthened compliance and anti-money-laundering capabilities developed after a prior funding round.
