Replay Technologies builds multi-dimensional video imaging technology called Free Dimensional Video (FreeD) that lets viewers experience real-life scenes through immersive camera views from multiple angles. The company plans to use its latest funding to develop next-generation multi-dimensional video imaging technologies and to expand into more sporting events and other types of live entertainment following NFL and NBA events in the U.S. With support from its new investor, Replay aims to find new opportunities for its technology in Europe and the U.S. The company has raised $27M since inception and recently closed a $13.5M Series B. Replay is led by CEO and co-founder Oren Yogev and maintains an R&D center in Tel-Aviv, Israel. The company is hiring. Replay Technologies develops freeD™ technology to create exclusive perspectives and angles by synchronizing images from arrays of Ultra HD cameras and rendering 360-degree virtual three-dimensional replays in real time. Launched in December 2011 by CEO Oren H. Yogev, the company is based in Newark, CA; Dallas, TX; and Tel Aviv, Israel. It has partnered with the NBA during the 2014 All‑Star Weekend and maintains strategic partnerships with Yankees Stadium, Dodgers Stadium, and AT&T Stadium to televise NFL, MLB, and NCAA football and basketball. The company received a US$9m investment from Guggenheim Partners last month and an additional follow-on investment from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation; terms were not disclosed. A majority of the stock round capital came from Guggenheim, with the remainder completed by SVIC and existing super angel investors in the United States and Israel. Replay will use the funds to expand its reach across the North American sports and entertainment markets.
