Replika is a free service that lets users create a chatbot modeled on their own replies; users input a name, birth date and phone number and then converse with the bot in English. The chatbot is designed to help with self-analysis and to let people "better understand themselves," according to the company. The service made its bot-creation feature available on the web, iOS and Android starting Nov 1. Replika reports 1.5 million users have used the service to date. The project was launched by Evgenia Kuyda, co-founder of the startup Luka. Financially, the company has raised $11 million in total and says it will use new funding to attract new users and further develop its technology.
