REPS has developed a patented Road Energy Production System that installs into existing road infrastructure to capture mechanical energy from vehicles and convert it into electricity. The company says its converter delivers 254x higher efficiency than the next-best alternative and is designed to operate under heavy traffic conditions for more than 20 years. Its first commercial installation has been operating at the Port of Hamburg since November 2025, where over 115,000 trucks have generated more than 6,700 kWh of electricity. REPS is initially targeting ports, logistics hubs, cities, and industrial sites and reports engagement with over 90 port-industry parties worldwide. The company provides city- and port-scale estimates (for example, a rollout across Port of Hamburg public roads could yield ~10 GWh/year with an ROI below four years) and plans to scale installations globally as part of a broader energy-harvesting platform.
