Rescue Forensics builds search software that helps law enforcement collect, filter and document online escort listings and other evidence that can be used to prosecute traffickers. The company was founded by Ryan Dalton and Brandon Hamric out of their anti‑trafficking work and grew from part‑time tools into a YC company. Rescue Forensics provides its software for free and is used by a few hundred state and local agencies across the U.S. and Europe. Using the tool, investigators have so far rescued nine victims. The startup has raised $80,000 in seed funding to cover server costs and travel. The founders plan to build premium features, expand into other software tools in partnership with law enforcement, and move back to Tennessee after finishing the Y Combinator winter program.
