Resend offers developers an email API and is the team behind the React Email open-source project, which supplies components to ensure emails render as intended. The platform launched in January and has been used by roughly 10,000 developers to send more than 7 million transactional emails. It provides boilerplate code for popular programming languages and a free developer tier that supports up to 3,000 emails per month. The founding team includes CEO and co-founder Zeno Rocha along with Bu Kinoshita and Jonni Lundy, and the company participated in Y Combinator’s Winter ’23 batch. Resend is focused on improving observability and developer experience around email delivery, and has built an internal tool called “Robocop” to detect and counteract spam and phishing. While currently concentrating on email, the team envisions a broader product scope and aims to be “the next Twilio.”
