Resmonics develops ResGuard Med, a CE-certified early-warning monitoring system that uses deep learning and respiratory-medicine research to help patients with chronic respiratory diseases manage their condition. Its AI-based mobile sensing pipeline leverages the smartphone's built-in microphone to detect clinically validated biomarkers (for example, nocturnal coughing) and estimate risk of disease worsening. The monitoring software is designed for integration into existing smartphone-based disease management solutions so patients only need to place their phones in their bedrooms at night to obtain objective symptom and progression assessments. Resmonics pursues a B2B2C model targeting tech-focused app-based disease management companies and health insurers, addressing a 550 million patient opportunity and an estimated CHF 3.8 billion target market in its target geographies. Founded in 2020, the Zurich startup has won support from CSS insurance and was a Venture Leaders Mobile 2021 participant. After recently CE-certifying ResGuard Med, Resmonics plans to collect new clinical-trial data to make the technology disease-agnostic and to focus on gaining commercial traction in Europe while pursuing international expansion outside Switzerland and the EU.
