ResolutionTube builds an augmented-reality field-service app and connected knowledge base that lets technicians scan serial numbers to pull up repair guidance and, if needed, connect via live video to an expert who can annotate with a whiteboard. The app captures audio to extract keywords that populate the knowledge base today, and the company plans to add natural language processing so entire conversations can be indexed and used to answer questions rather than only support search. ResolutionTube is targeting the field services market, enabling workers to fix everything from heating vents to sophisticated medical equipment without calling a centralized support line. The company is also prototyping a Google Glass app and aims to superimpose 3D models into video to provide hands-free, visual instructions. ResolutionTube intends to use its recent funding to develop these advanced product features and expand its augmented-reality capabilities.
