Overview

Resourcify offers a cloud-based recycling platform that identifies valuable materials and connects global corporations with local recyclers via a central customer-accessible dashboard. The platform manages pickup locations, on-site handling, materials transport and invoicing, and leverages a database of materials, recyclers and routes plus machine learning to highlight cost-saving and recycling opportunities. Resourcify has developed circular programs across multiple European markets and works with global players such as Johnson & Johnson and McDonald’s. The company reports around 60 employees, manages over €115 million worth of waste for 15,000 businesses, and has more than 50 paying customers. Revenue has tripled year-over-year in recent years and a source cited a valuation of roughly €50 million. Resourcify plans to use new funding to grow its customer base and expand internationally. Resourcify operates a digital platform that helps companies digitize and optimize waste management and recycling, enabling better sorting, transparency and revenue generation from secondary raw materials. Its software replaces outdated general contractors by connecting waste-producers with local recyclers and specialist facilities to uncover optimization potential. The company manages more than 2 million pickups annually across customers in over six European countries, including Bosch, Hornbach, Johnson & Johnson and McDonald's. In February 2022 Resourcify raised €5m, bringing total funding to over €9m. With the new investment it plans to grow the team to around 50 people and invest strongly in product, engineering, sales and marketing to reach new customers. Resourcify frames its mission as supporting the transition to a circular economy and reducing costs and environmental footprints for businesses. Resourcify provides a platform that digitizes waste and recycling management for companies, offering automated workflows to increase recycling rates, transparency and efficiency while reducing costs. The service is used in seven countries and by 220 waste management companies that collectively manage over €25 million worth of waste across 4,300 locations. Resourcify aims to help companies achieve zero-waste targets and to make commercial recycling more transparent and compliant with rising regulation. The company says its solution can save time and cut costs by up to 30 percent. Founded in 2015 by Gary Lewis and based in Hamburg, Resourcify operates in a fragmented €500 billion annual waste market. It plans to use new funding to develop further platform functions and to enter new verticals. Resourcify GmbH is a Hamburg-based cloud platform for digital waste management that offers the Mein Recycling app. Led by CEO Gary Lewis, the platform enables businesses to manage their waste and allows recyclers to connect with customers online. The app launched publicly in September 2017 and has been used by businesses of every size and industry, from freelance tradesmen to DAX-listed organizations. The company raised €1M in funding and intends to use the proceeds to further strengthen its position in digitization of recycling and waste management. Backers for the round included High‑Tech Gründerfonds and the Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg. Resourcify plans to apply the funds to expand its digital offerings and market presence in the recycling and waste sector.
