The company has raised a total of $20 million after closing an additional $7 million in new funding. The new capital will be used for U.S. expansion, hiring talent and product development. Dr. Shay David, co-founder and CEO, said Splunk Ventures joining the round will help the company use data to address the widening skills gap. Retrain.ai builds a platform that reads job boards at scale to identify which jobs are increasing or declining in popularity and to surface early warning signals about new job categories. The product is positioned to help large organizations and governments form labor and workforce policy by revealing shifting demand in the job market. The company secured a first deal with the Israeli Department of Labor to analyze how the pandemic is changing the Israeli job market. Retrain.ai says its insights can help address unemployment and underemployment and aims to help 10 million workers find the right jobs by 2025. Financially, the company has raised $13 million to date, including a $9 million Series A and a prior $4 million seed.
