Reunion operates a marketplace that streamlines the transferability of renewable energy tax credits by standardizing legal documents, due diligence and insurance. The company plans to digitize and automate more of the process to democratize both the funding side and project side. Co‑founders Andy Moon and Billy Lee started the business shortly after the Inflation Reduction Act passed. Reunion raised a $2.9 million seed round led by Segue Sustainable Infrastructure and has been lining up customers since. This year the marketplace has about $300 million worth of credits for sale. Reunion is initially focused on buyers with $500 million or more in revenue but plans to open to smaller businesses and projects as it automates the process. Buyers on the marketplace typically receive a 7%–10% discount on credits.
