RewardLoop builds an adapter that integrates with point-of-sale systems to print a QR code on receipts; customers scan the code to collect loyalty points tied to the actual purchase. Because the system links to the POS, merchants can see exact purchase items and amounts and target rewards accordingly. The adapter claims compatibility with 85% of existing POS systems, supports NFC payments, and reportedly takes under 30 minutes to install. RewardLoop began commercial trials in August and is already live with early testers. In one early deployment at Milano Coffee in RewardLoop’s hometown of Vancouver, 23% of daily transactions are by customers enrolled in the program. CEO and co-founder Jeff LaPorte says the new funding will be used to expand the merchant network more aggressively.
